If you and a friend wish to room together, you should request one another on the residence 大厅里的应用程序. 你 each still need to fill out your own 住房 application separately.

居住生活 cannot guarantee that preferred roommates will be assigned together.

If you do not designate a mutual request for a specific roommate, you will be assigned 一个室友. 你 can request a room assignment change after the first two weeks of 每学期的课程. After an assignment is made, you may not change your assignment without the approval of the Resident Director. For more information, please contact 学生生活办公室.

新生: Move-in day is the first day of Welcome Week. Though not required, you are highly encouraged to attend the Welcome Week new student orientation. If not attending Welcome Week, returning student check-in information applies.

Lofts are permitted but must meet the following guidelines:

• Include original bed frame and mattress (bed frames are 6'8" in length and are 3'2" 宽)
• Use 4x4s for the posts; 2x4s and 4x6s for the frame.

• Loft, springs or mattress must be 6' or less in height. Due to ceiling fans, height needs to be 70" or less in 纪念馆.
• Lofts need to be free-standing (i.e. not attached to walls, floor or ceiling, no wiring 附加).

• Keep loft clear of smoke detectors, windows, heaters and doorways.
• Keep flammable materials, such as paneling, tapestries, curtains, posters or fish 网，远离阁楼.
• Remove loft at the end of the academic year.

你 are responsible for cleaning your own room, bathroom suite, and/or apartments. Residence 大厅s with community restrooms are cleaned by the housekeeping staff, but you are still responsible for keeping your bedroom clean. 你可能 check out a vacuum cleaner located in each residence 厅办公室.

的 university is not responsible for any theft, loss, or damage of students’ personal 财产. It is recommended that students obtain renter’s insurance through their 保险公司.

To change your meal plan, you must contact the Office of 居住生活. 如果你选择 to downgrade to a smaller meal plan, you must do so by the end of the fifth day of the semester for which your plan is purchased. 你可能 upgrade to a bigger meal plan 在任何时候. Prices are subject to change on a yearly basis.

Mail is delivered to the campus mail room and will be distributed through lockers 在学生会.

Internet access is available in all 学生宿舍 and apartment units. 每个房间 在学生宿舍 has at least two network 连接 allowing each student to have their own individual 连接. 每个房间 is network ready, but the student will need to have Ethernet cable (network cable) in order to make the connection from their computer to the network. 的 network connection allows high-speed access to e-mail and the Internet.

Residence 大厅 lobbies and 大厅ways are equipped with access points for wireless Internet 连接.

All 学生宿舍 and apartments are equipped with unlimited use laundry facilities.

的 residence life custodial staff cleans all public restrooms, public areas, and residence 大厅 community restrooms on a regular basis. It is your responsibility to clean your own room, apartment or the residence 大厅 suite bathrooms where applicable.

Specific 学生宿舍 are accessible for students with physical disabilities living 在学生宿舍. For special needs or accommodations, please contact the Office of Student 生活 at (417) 328-1885.

Adequate parking is provided at each residence 大厅 and/or apartments. 你必须注册 your vehicle and obtain a parking sticker through SBU安全与安保.

Many activities and educational programs are planned throughout the semester by the 宿舍工作人员. 你 also may get involved in leadership opportunities through dorm council, residence 大厅 activities, community service projects, multicultural services programs, Bible studies and/or becoming a Resident Assistant in the residence 大厅.

Each residence 大厅 and various apartment units have lounge and/or study areas equipped with lounge furniture and other recreational equipment. 的se areas are great for study groups, recreation and gathering with other residents.

Each residence 厅办公室 supplies basic cleaning equipment that you may check-out 不花钱. 你可能 check out vacuums, mops, brooms, dustpans, etc. 化妆品项目, such as toilet paper, are provided for students and are available in the residence 厅办公室.
